• Grade 12;
• A Post graduate qualification in Law
• Admission as an Attorney as a minimum requirement

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

• A minimum 10 years’ experience in a legal environment of which at least 5 years must be managerial experience
• Strong corporate legal background dealing with reviewing and drafting of all types of commercial agreements
• Experience in the implementation of efficient contract management processes
• Knowledge and working experience in the applications of the Public Financial Management Act (PFMA) and other relevant legislation and regulations that govern the Public Service
• Understanding of the Council for Geoscience Act
• Knowledge of Mineral Regulatory Regime
• Knowledge of current legislation, applicable to state owned entity
• Proven track record of providing relevant and appropriate legal counsel
• Proven track record in successfully managing litigations
• Proven legislative drafting experience in the public sector
• Proven track record in civil litigation, administrative law, labour law contracts drafting and vetting, dispute resolution processes
• Ability to implement compliance systems without compromising business efficiency
• Project management skills

• Conducts moderate geoscience research under guidance, which include data collection, quality control, analyses, interpretation and technical report compilation.
• Resolves simple to moderately complex problems in a variety of geoscientific fields (with the primary focus on engineering geology) in line with standard operating procedures / approved methodologies under guidance or supervision.

• Grade 12;
• B Com (Accounting) or equivalent qualification an in-depth knowledge of IAS 16 and asset related GRAP standards.
• Must have five (5) years or more Accounting , Asset Management and Finance experience.
• Sound financial management skills and understand integrated risk management processes.
• Extensive knowledge, experience, interpretation and application of accrual accounting and GRAP standards
• Understanding of PFMA, Treasury regulations, IFRS and Financial policies
• Computer literate, good knowledge of MS Word and must have Excel at mastery level
• Project Management
• Proficient with Accpac or equivalent ERP financial system and any Asset system

• Ensure Planning, Improvement, Execution & Achievement of Results

• Conducts limited geoscience research under guidance which include data collection, basic analyses and interpretation.
• Resolves simple problems in a variety of geoscientific fields in line (in part) with SOP/research methodology under guidance or supervision.

• Contribute to the development and implementation of the stakeholder relations strategy, initiatives and activities to build and promote stakeholder relations.
• Implement stakeholder engagement plans and projects in line with the agreed and established CGS strategy
• Maintain a database of all CGS stakeholders
• Implement stakeholder in-house support processes and structures
• Carry out a stakeholder needs assessment and continuously monitor implementation progress against established targets
• Coordinate the MoU/MoA process and ensure sign off and monitor the implementation thereof
• Coordinate stakeholder engagement with key stakeholders to ensure ease of doing business and access to areas within stakeholder communities.
